Visits: 4429
On 16th June 2022, the former uranium-mining town of Mailuu-Suu, nestled within the Jalal-Abad province, commemorated the inauguration of the Museum of the History of Mailuu-Suu and the Uranium Heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
The museum offers a shared and interactive experience where visitors can contribute historical materials, stories, and memories in a recording booth. Open discussions on topics like radiation safety and reclamation of uranium tailings further engage visitors. With a vision to boost cultural tourism, the museum is poised to become an integral part of the town's cultural landscape.
This significant addition to Mailuu-Suu's cultural fabric is an outcome of the Mailuu-Suu Development Forum's efforts, which aimed to harness investment potential and drive socio-economic and environmental progress in the town.
The museum finds its home within the "House of Culture" in the heart of Mayluu-Suu town.
