The lake, with an area of 0.82 sq. km, is surrounded by sheer cliffs that are almost impossible to approach. However, you can still catch glimpses of the breathtaking lake through small passes in the spurs. Two streams flow into Ai-Kel, and the water level rises during the summer months and subsides during the winter, creating a beautiful layer of ice on the lake.
