Karakol Ski Base: Where Winter Adventures Come to Life
Visits: 4982
The modern ski base 'Karakol' is located in Kyrgyzstan, 7 km from the city of Karakol (Issyk-Kul region). In Soviet times, it was used for training the Olympic national team. In 2004, the base was completely modernized.
Today, 'Karakol' is the perfect place not only for athlete training but also for active recreation.
The Karakol ski base is a unique ski resort due to its natural conditions. Situated at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Tien Shan mountains, amidst majestic coniferous forests. The mild climate, influenced by the non-freezing high-altitude Issyk-Kul lake, allows you to enjoy skiing to the fullest. In winter, the daytime air temperature rarely drops below -5 degrees Celsius, and plenty of sunny days allow for skiing and sunbathing simultaneously. The ski season starts in November and lasts until April. Throughout this time, you don't need to worry about snow - it covers the ground with a dense layer, with a thickness ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters.
Winter is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Snowmobile rides through the winter forest add positive emotions and unforgettable experiences. In the summer, you have the unique opportunity to take thrilling jeep rides on mountain roads, feel like a real horseman conquering mountain peaks on horseback, or embark on exciting hikes along the best tourist routes.
Whenever you visit 'Karakol,' you will enjoy a wonderful vacation and discover the beauty and perfection of untouched nature in Kyrgyzstan.
