Discover the grandeur of the Shah-Fazil historical and architectural complex, situated in the Alabuka district of the Jalal-Abad region. A mere 10 km away from the village of Kerben, this complex is a testament to the rich history of the area, encompassing sites like the sacred mountain Archa-Mazar, the 11th-century mausoleum of Shah-Fazil, a mosque from the 18th-19th centuries, the mausoleums of Alamberdar and Safid-Bulent from the 19th century, and The Holy Hermit cave. The centerpiece of this complex is the extraordinary Shah-Fazil mausoleum, a rare architectural gem from the Karakhanids epoch. The mausoleum's four walls, each of equal length, are meticulously oriented to the cardinal directions. Its towering height of 15.5 meters is crowned by a massive cylindrical dome. Inside, the Shah-Fazil mausoleum boasts exquisite gypsum (ganch) carved ornaments adorned with vibrant colors. Historians speculate that the mausoleum may have served as the final resting place of Ferghana ruler Mahmood ibn Nasir, a significant figure from the Karakhanids Age. Today, the Shah-Fazil historical complex draws pilgrims and history enthusiasts alike from across Central Asia, offering a mesmerizing journey through time.
