The Kök-Moinok Canyon

On the way to Lake Issyk-Kul in the Boom Gorge, about 150 km. from Bishkek, there are colorful and unique in their relief canyons - Kok-Moinok. It was named after the nearby village of Kok-Moinok of the same name. The mountainous landscape is represented here by red-yellow sandstone, which indicates a history of many thousands of years of relief corrosion.
