Nansen Peak: A Prominent Summit in Kyrgyzstan's Landscape

Thus, the mountain was christened Nansen Peak in honor of Fridtjof Nansen, the esteemed scientific researcher and Nobel laureate, a name it has proudly borne for over 87 years.

In 1937, the peak witnessed its inaugural ascent led by A. Letavet. Climbers were greeted with an awe-inspiring spectacle - a magnificent mountain ensconced in an armor of ice and snow, radiating brilliance in the sun's embrace.
