The Orto-Tokoy Water Reservoir
The Orto-Tokoy water reservoir is the first reservoir built in Kyrgyzstan in 1956. It is located on the River Chu, behind the village of Kochkor. Its length is about 18 km, and the volume is over 4700 million cubic meters.\nThe main task of the reservoir is the irrigation of agricultural lands of the Chuy region and South of Kazakhstan. Water glands amazes its vast expanse and serenity, while in different places water changes its color: somewhere gentle blue, somewhere Emerald, and somewhere near black. The delightful view of the reservoir gives and rim from gray-brown mountains surrounding it.
