Kol-Tor

The Köl-Tör Lake

The mountain lake Kel-Tor is located 86 km from the city of Bishkek on the northern slopes of the Kyrgyz Range. It is located at an altitude of 2725 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy walks through the spruce forest and dense thickets of mountain ash, honeysuckle, wild rose, raspberry and barberry, which are later replaced by juniper bushes and alpine meadows. The lake itself was formed as a result of an earthquake and is a dam-type lake. The water in the lake has a beautiful turquoise hue. The water temperature is not suitable for swimming, as it is quite cold and warms up to only 5 degrees in summer. Hiking route to the lake about 8 kilometers one way. The journey will take 3-5 hours.
