The Kalmak-Ashuu Pass

The height of the Kalmak-Ashuu pass is 3447 m above sea level. Passing through it, you can get to the northern shore of Lake Son-Kul. It is noteworthy that the road through the pass is open only in summer and autumn (from June to October), the rest of the time it remains impassable due to heavy snows. On the way to the pass, nature surprises: stone deserts give way to endless alpine meadows, decorated with beautiful edelweiss.
